Biography
I joined the University of Bristol in early 2002. In my last role, I provided leadership within the postgraduate administration team and oversaw all aspects of postgraduate administration across the School. I was also responsible for process development and implementation, to ensure local postgraduate administration remained efficient and effective for the School, Faculty and University within a changing environment.
In addition, I was responsible for the day-to-day running of a Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT), including strategic and operational planning; liaison with external partners and funding bodies; administering student records; overseeing recruitment throughout its cycle; scheduling training activities; providing pastoral support and event management.
This extensive experience in postgraduate administration has been key for the effective delivery of my current responsibilities as a Doctoral Opportunities Officer at the Bristol Doctoral College. In this role, I focus on postgraduate data and systems (interrogating information systems relating to postgraduate student demographics and making recommendations for improvements in data and information provision); postgraduate community demographics (informing initiatives to enhance the recruitment and retention of the widest possible talent pool) and supporting doctoral training investment as well as other UKRI training grants (including reporting and monitoring records).
